Ghana Received US$560 million from the World Bank to support COVID-19 fight- Pierre Frank Laporte.
Ghana received an amount of US$ 430 million from the world bank to fight Covid-19. This was revealed by Country Director of the World Bank, Pierre Frank Laporte in an interview on Joy News.
He added that Ghana further received US$ 130 million from the the bank to support the purchase of Vaccines. A total of US$ 560 million.
The initial sum of US$ 430 million was targeted at campaigns and projects to sensitize Ghanaians on Covid-19 safety protocols, equipping laboratories and medical facilities to receive patients.
He explained that the World Bank also embarked on other projects to support the Ghanaian economy in the SME and Tourism sectors and has plans of disbursing an additional sum of US$ 60 million which will go directly to support vaccine purchases and treatment centres.
