Former President Mahama, Salaga South MP Commission Ultramodern 6-Unit Classroome Block At Bagabaga

The Former President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday 9th February 2023 joined the Member of Parliament (MP) for Salaga – South Constituency, Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, to hand over a six-unit classroom block constructed by the MP to the Ghana Education Service in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region.

The six-unit classroom block came with other ancillary facilities including a staff office, store room, washrooms, furniture, and white maker boards among others. The new school structure is to help improved quality teaching and learning in about five communities without a proper school structure.

The beneficiary communities include Bagabaga, Kakoshie, Kokolombo, and Techipe. The project is also to help solve the age-old lack of proper educational infrastructure in these communities.

Speaking at a short ceremony in Bagabaga to commission the project, the MP said the completion of the school project is in fulfillment of a pledge she made to the community members during the 2020 general elections when she was informed that these communities were lacking school structures.

She said the provision of modern educational infrastructure is part of her commitment to uplift the face of the educational sector in the East Gonja Municipality. Hajia Zuwera also said education is key to every development hence her priority as an MP is to make education more accessible for the betterment of every child in the area.

Former President John Dramani Mahama on his part commended the MP for prioritizing education in her constituency to improve quality education delivery. He also commended the NGO, Wulugu Project for funding such a beautiful project and urged the Education Directorate to make good use of the facility.

The representative of the East Gonja Municipal Education Directorate Mr. Adam Kawurbi thanked the MP and the NGO for the project. He said as Education Directorate they would continue to work closely with the MP in other to improve access to quality education in many other communities within the Municipality without proper school structures.
