FDA Destroys Tons Of Contaminated Food Items
The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has destroyed tons of unwholesome foods, drugs, herbal medicinal products, cosmetics, household chemicals as well as tobacco products worth almost two Hundred thousand Ghana Cedis.
The products were seized from over a thousand four hundred shops in the Ahafo, Bono and Bono East Regions and were destroyed yesterday.
The FDA Regional Head in the Bono Region, Akua Amponsah Owusu, urged traders who are affected in such exercise to take advantage to seek tax rebate.
A few days ago, the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in the Upper East Region, undertook a similar exercise, disposing off wholesome and contaminated food items and drugs worth GH¢312,720.15. Products were burnt in an open air dump site at Sherigu in Bolgatanga.
