Don’t try to make utmost profit from current difficulties – Akufo-Addo appeals to traders
Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo has made a heartfelt appeal to traders to not take advantage of the current economic difficulties to enrich themselves.
His appeal follows complaints about some traders resorting to unreasonable margins on their goods over fears of future high costs.
Many Ghanaians had prior to the Presidents address, hoped there will be the announcement of a price control policy which will regulate the pricing of goods by traders.
However, speaking to the Nation on Sunday, October 30, the President called on such traders to be measured and “keep an eye out for the greater good.
“I hear from the market queens also, that another factor fueling the high prices is the high margins that some traders are slapping on goods, for fear of future costs. I say to our traders, we are all in this together. Please let’s be measured in the margins we seek.”
