Court To Determine Date For Arise Ghana Demonstration
The court will today, Monday, June 27, 2022, determine the legitimacy of a planned demonstration by pressure group, Arise Ghana.
The group scheduled to demonstrate on Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29, over the current economic challenges the country is experiencing.
However, the protest is being challenged by the Ghana Police Service, which says it cannot guarantee the safety of members of the group for long hours.
In a statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Chief Superintendent Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the disagreement with the group over the time for the demonstration compelled them to go to court for resolution.
The service however assured organisers and the general public of its readiness to provide security for the demonstration should the court rule otherwise.
