Deloitte Ghana Marks 75th Anniversary; Urges Accountants To Exhibit High Level Of Integrity
Accountants and auditors in the country have been advised to exhibit high level of ethics and values in their practices.
According to Daniel Kwadwo Owusu, Country Managing Partner of Deloitte Ghana, this is necessary to gain public trust in their professional service.
Speaking to Joy Business at the launch of Deloitte Ghana’s 75th anniversary celebration, he urged accountants to execute their jobs without fear or favour.
To bring sanity to the job, he urged them to adhere to the profession’s ideals and ethics.
“Going forward, we need accountants with high level of integrity. People who can stand to do the right thing”, he said. He also urged accountants to embrace technology and abandon traditional working practices.
Accounting, he said, should be utilised to tackle societal problems.
“That pure accounting work we use to see will go away. We need people who can add value to the accounting profession and also employ technology in analysis of financial statements and interpreting them”, he added.

The accounting and auditing firm, Deloitte Ghana, marked its 75th anniversary celebration with a colourful ceremony.
The firm’s ambition is to impact society in all areas.
Indeed, it’s an enduring story that began in 1947 with James Donald Barnes, CA Scotland. He was a Chartered Accountant with an incentive to build something that would last.
He operated under the name and style of J. D. Barnes & Co. Chartered Accountants. What started as one person with an idea has grown to the firm it is today.
This was the start of a thriving firm that has grown to more than 300 people.
The Ghana firm has been in business for 75 years because of the trust gain from the public. It therefore will continue to make an impact that matters for another 75 years to come.
While it count on successes and milestones, it acknowledges it could not have done it without it founders, alumni, partners, and staff.
