Another resident who runs a pharmacy shop shared the same ordeal. she said they incur loses because some clients turn away from their shops of the dusty.

“No matter how well we clean the drugs we display in our shops, they are always engulfed with dust, so sometimes our clients complain our drugs are expired and ignore us for our competitors elsewhere,” she indicated.

For others, the situation has compelled them to close their shops and find alternative livelihoods.

The residents said, the age-old road which serves the entire Tamale Metropolis and Sagnarigu Municipal in transporting waste generated within the two assemblies to a landfill site and other commercial activities has been abandoned.
