“Close All Pre-Institutions Affected By The Ongoing Strike” – Minority To GES

The minority in parliament is asking the Ghana Education Service to order the closure of all pre-tertiary institutions affected by the ongoing strike.

Four teacher unions on Monday declared and indefinite, nationwide industrial over government’s failure to grant them a 20 per cent Cost of Living Allowance. In a press conference earlier today, the deputy ranking member of the committee, Dr. Clement Apaak says GES must order the closure of schools if government fails to address the issues in the next three days.

Meanwhile, students in some schools in the Northern Region are appealing to government to fast-track engagements with their teachers so academic work can resume. Our Northern Regional Content Manager, Simon Unyan visited some schools in the Region and filed this report.

Back here in Accra, the situation is no different. Students are feeling the impact.
