Case Of Monkey Pox Causes Panic In Bono East Region

Some residents in the Techiman Municipality of Bono East Region are worried after the first case of monkey pox was reported in the commercial capital.

On June 20, 2022, the Regional Health Directorate confirmed the first case in the region involving a female security officer.

Speaking to MX24 Tv news, the Municipal Disease Control Officer, Abraham Num encouraged resident to adhere to precautionary measures to ensure their safety and prevent further spread.

Ghana has recorded a few more cases after the initial five cases.

Countries like Morocco and Nigeria have also confirmed cases of monkey pox, leading to Nigeria banning the consumption of bush meat.
