Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey ruled out for rest of season due to injury
Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will miss the rest of the 2021/22 football season due to injury.
Partey sustained a thigh injury during the Gunners’ 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace and was replaced by midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga in the second half at Selhurst Park.
The injury forced the 28-year-old to miss Arsenal’s subsequent games against Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton, Chelsea and Manchester United.
He was seen training again earlier this week but Arteta reiterated that he does not expect Partey to make a return before the end of season.
“He’s (Thomas Partey) progressing but he had a significant injury, a recurring injury as well, so we don’t expect him to make progress that quickly to see him this season, but hopefully I am wrong.
Partey has made 24 league appearances for Arsenal, scored two goals, and provided one assist so far this season.
Arsenal will take on West Ham in the Premier League at the London Stadium on Sunday.
