Alan Kyeremanten Call On The Church To Help Find Solution To Unemployment
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Alan Kyeremanten has called on the Church to put work into entrepreneurial initiatives to create jobs for the youth of Ghana. He stated that though the Church’s primary role is to win souls, it is essential that the Church also through advocacy, find solutions to the current unemployment situation.
Speaking at the 3rd Public Lecture on the topic ,”Harnessing Job Prospects And Opportunities in the Trade Industry Sector” on Thursday in Accra, he said it was a complementing factor to the efforts of the government to creating jobs for the youth, to sustain socio-economic growth. He also state that, the government has created a free environment for the private sector to create jobs for people and earn income.
Mr Alan Kyeremanten mentioned that over 300 factories have been sited in the country under the one-district-one-factory initiative to create job opportunities , and added that over 150 of these companies are currently operational, with the rest under construction.
The Minister later urged the citizenry, especially the youth, to avail themselves to Government job opportunities to reduce unemployment and keep them productive as well.
