Akufo-Addo terminates appointment of GACL MD, Yaw Kwakwa

President Akufo-Addo has terminated the appointment of the Managing Director of the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL), Yaw Kwakwa.

The Minister for Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah communicated the immediate termination of Mr. Kwakwa’s appointment in a letter dated January 31, 2022.

The letter was directed to the Board Chairman of GACL and directed him to take the needed steps to effect this executive directive.

The reason for his dismissal remains unclear but it is suspected to be as a result of the current McDan Aviation tussle.

McDan Aviation announced the suspension of its private jet operations at Terminal 1 of the Kotoka International Airport to enable airport authorities iron out issues bordering on operational procedures.
