Akufo-Addo Call On The Global Community For Help For African Countries
The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Akufo-Addo has indicated that the rising cost of living, rising interest rate, as well as the current debt situation across Africa is resulting in severe macro-economic and financial instability on the continent.
In his view, the current situation will not be salvaged by national policy adjustments and limited fiscal tools, especially as African countries struggle to access capital on the global market.
Speaking at the 15th Edition of the European Development Days (EDD) in Brussels, Belgium on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 themed “Global Gateway: Building Sustainable Partnerships For A Connected World”, urged the global community to increase its effort in helping developing countries safeguard their economies, in the face of the current coronavirus pandemic.
The forum brought from far and near dignitaries to share ideas and experiences to inspire new partnerships and innovative solutions to the world’s challenges.
