2021 AFCON: Mohammed Kudus return date revealed by Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac

Ghana head coach, Milovan Rajevac has disclosed that Ajax midfielder, Mohammed Kudus will join up with his teammates next week.

The 21-year-old is currently on a training camp in Portugal with his club despite being named in the 28-man squad ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Kudus has been out of action since picking up a rib injury during Ghana’s final Group G 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa in November 2021.

“Kudus got injured in our last game against SA, he started training recently with his club (Ajax) so we are expecting him to join us in the coming days, a week’s time when he is fully fit and hopefully we can count on him as the tournament progresses,” coach Milovan Rajevac said in the pre-game press conference.

Black Stars, who suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to African champions Algeria last Wednesday in a preparatory game have already arrived in Yaoundé.

The four-time African champions will open their campaign against Morocco on Monday before playing Gabon and Comoros in the other Group C matches
