2021 AFCON: GFA boss Kurt Okraku confident Ghana will beat Gabon in second group game
Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku is confident the Black Stars will beat Gabon in their second Group C game at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
Milovan Rajevac’s side lost their opening game 1-0 against Morocco courtesy of Sofiane Boufal’s strike at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium on Monday.
Ghana will need to beat Gabon, who defeated Comoros 1-0 in the other group game to stand a chance of progressing to the next stage of the competition.
“We played a very tough game against Morocco, I thought we were very structured and disciplined but unfortunately, the ball found its way into the net,” Okraku said.
“The team recovered ever since, training sessions have been very good, which sends a clear signal about the readiness of the team to return to winning ways.
“I’m extremely positive about our game against Gabon on Friday and I respectfully ask Ghanaians to throw their support behind the boys.”
