2021/22 GPL: Bechem United hold Hearts of Oak to goalless draw, King Faisal beat Bibiani Gold Stars to go top
Defending Ghana Premier League Champions Hearts of Oak were held to a goalless draw by Bechem United on Sunday.
The Phobians failed to pick up all three points in their match week 11 encounter at the Accra Sports stadium.
Samuel Boadu’s side still has two outstanding games as they lie 9th on the league table with 14 points.
The game against Bechem United was the first for Hearts at home since their 2-0 win over J.S Saoura in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday, November 28, 2022.
Elsewhere, King Faisal continued their impressive start to the season with a 2-1 win over Bibiani Gold Stars to move to the top of the Premier League table and maintained their unbeaten home record.
Ibrahim Osman and Zubairu Ibrahim scored within 38 minutes to give King Faisal a well-deserved lead before the break.
But Godfred Kyei pulled one back for Bibiani Gold Stars in the second half, however, that wasn’t enough to give them a point as King Faisal held on to win 2-1 at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.
In Tamale, Real Tamale United (RTU) came from behind to snatch a point against Dreams FC at the Aliu Mahama stadium. RTU took an early lead through Ronald Frimpong in the 33rd minute but Dreams FC equalized before the break courtesy of Issah Ibrahim’s strike.
Ali Huzaif doubled the lead for Dreams FC in the 58th but Dankwa Badu scored 10 minutes later to make it 2-2.
