2021/22 GPL: Asante Kotoko beat WAFA; Medeama end Aduana Stars’ six-game unbeaten run
Asante Kotoko defeated WAFA 1-0 to continue their winning run while Medeama ended Aduana Stars’ six game unbeaten on match week 10 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
Richmond Lamptey’s lone strike in the 59th minute was enough to seal the maximum points for the Porcupine Warriors at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The former Inter Allies player shot from the inside of the box to condemn his former side to another defeat on the road.
The win lifts Kotoko to the top of the league table with 20 points after 10 matches played so far.
Elsewhere, Amed Toure scored an absolute stunner as Medeama beat in-form Aduana Stars 1-0 to pull breaks on their winning streak at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
Toure fired home the only goal of the match in the 88th minute to give Medeama all three points.
Stephen Anokye Badu scored from the spot in the 41st minute as Berekum Chelsea pip Ashanti Gold SC 1-0 at the Golden City Park.
At the Fosu Gyeabuor Park, Augustine Okrah scored in the 80th minute for Bechem United in their 1-0 win over King Faisal.
There will be two matches on Monday December 27, 2021. Elmina Sharks will be at home against Legon Cities while Accra Loins welcome RTU to the WAFA Park at Sogakope in the other match.
