20-year-old man arrested for killing mother, two other ladies

A 20-year-old man has been arrested by the Upper West Regional Police Command for the alleged murder of his mother and two other ladies at Tampaala, a suburb of Jirapa.

The suspect, Anthony Yengbor is being held also for causing harm to an eight (8) months old baby.

A statement released by the Ghana Police Service Thursday evening says “the suspect allegedly attacked his 60 year old mother, his landlord’s wife, his sister and her eight (8) months old son.”

“The victims who were found in a critical condition were taken to the St. Joseph’s Hospital in Jirapa for medical attention,” the statement added.

The three women were however pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital while the baby is still receiving treatment.

The accused was arrested on Sunday, August 28, 2022 and was arraigned before the Jirapa Magistrate Court on August 30, 2022.

He has been remanded into prison custody to reappear on 19th September 2022.
