193 students of Tamale Technical University rusticated for examination malpractices
The Tamale Technical University has rusticated 193 students for examination malpractices such as “bringing foreign materials into the examination room which included mobile phones, electronic watches, pieces of handwritten notes,” among others.
A statement from the institution’s Directorate of Public Affairs noted that the decision was reached following a report of the incidents, a probe and recommendation by the Disciplinary Committee.
“One hundred and ninety-three cases were found culpable of the offences against them… The Academic Board at its meeting on 15th December, 2021 upheld recommendations by the Disciplinary Committee to rusticate 193 students who were involved in various examination malpractices during the 2021 second semester examinations held from 30th August to 20th September, 2o21. ”
The students have since been rusticated for two semesters effective next academic year.
All papers involved have also been cancelled.
