Jaman South Municipality Donate To Persons With Disability
About 70 persons with Disability within the Jaman South Municipality of the Bono Region have received support of 3% to 5%, from the municipality’s common fund to help expand their business and support their health and education among others.
These items were presented to them by Jaman South Municipal Assembly led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Andrews Bediako. Items presented included six fufu pounding machines, twenty plastic chairs, nine freezers and two sewing machines which cost over GHC 90,000, according to the assembly. Other persons also had the benefit of health support with payment of medications, surgery, review, referrals and aid.
The MCE said the act was geared towards driving away poverty among persons with disability in the municipal area.
‘We are giving these items to them so that they don’t have to beg for themselves. They have brains just like every other human being and are capable of doing many things. Support like this would also help them to eat at home and feed their families” Mr Bediako stated.
Beneficiaries of the support include visually impaired persons, speech, hearing impaired and the Limps from all communities within the Municipality.
